The University of Memphis baseball team defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 4-3, in a back-and-forth game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field on Friday night. Left-hander JT Durham pitched three perfect innings of relief to earn the win and Dalton Kendrick pitched the ninth to pick up his fifth save of the year.

With the win, Memphis improved to 10-8 on the season and won its second in a row. The Lions dropped to 11-7 on the season with the loss.

"I thought our offense did a great job battling all night," Durham said. "I came in and just tried to attack the zone and my defense made some great plays behind me. I just tried to get it to the next guy. I knew DK was going to come in for the ninth and he shut it down for us."

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Southeastern took the lead in the first on a two-out RBI single through the left side.
• A two-out single by Tyler Heckert in the top of the fourth inning evened things up at one run apiece, as RJ. Jimerson came in to score.
• In the bottom half of the fourth, the Lions took a 2-1 lead on a two-out single up the middle.
• Austin Baskin singled to right field in the top of the fifth to drive in Cameron Benson, again with two outs, to even things back up at 2-2.
• In the bottom half of the fifth, Southeastern plated another run with two outs in the inning on a single through the left side to take a 3-2 lead.
• Third baseman Logan Kohler led off the sixth inning with a tomahawk solo shot to right field to tie the game once again at 3-3. It was the first run in the game for either team not scored with two outs in the inning.
• Kohler gave the Tigers the lead his next time at-bat on a sac-fly to right field that drove in Anthony Hansen, making the score 4-3.
• Durham entered the game in the sixth in relief of starter David Warren. Durham pitched three perfect innings to earn the win, striking out two Lions. Kendrick entered for a one-two-three ninth to close out the win for the Tigers.

NOTABLES
• Memphis retired all 12 Lion hitters that came to the plate from the sixth inning through the ninth.
